StormBerg Engineering and Solar Streetlights

Via Odili

Residents of Lagos have recently been getting used to the sight of streetlights working again...Lagos has had to power its streetlights with generators, pending the implementation of sustainable alternatives. One of such options has arrived, and it is the solar option, which is now being rolled out across the state. It is another first for the centre of excellence, as the solar units are of unique design.
Stomberg Engineering's other services include:
-Civil, Mechanical, Telecommunication & Power systems infrastructure
-Turkey CDMA/GSM Sites Build
-Fibre Optics and Copper Cabling Networks

Lagos is dfefinitely not the first state in the country to have solar street lighting. For the record, it is not even city wide yet, but it is duely welcome.

Nice work. The more devices are independent of the mains grid, the easier it will be to replace that grid or modify it to include more renewables.

This is very interesting and I would be very keen to see how this can be applied in Zimbabwe and just how much can then be saved on power imports.

Excellent stuff
