Over the past five years, floriculture has become a booming business in Ethiopia threatening, if the trend continues, to challenge Kenya as Africa's biggest flower exporter. Last year, a score of investors from the Netherlands, Germany, India and Israel secured licences to start new farms and the industry's exports earnings are set to grow by 500 percent between 2005 and 2007.
