Some of you might already know that I was the Program Director for the recently concluded TED Global event that took place Arusha Tanzania. It was for me a most fulfilling and life enriching experience. We have I believe, just witnessed the beginnings and evolving creation of a new African tapestry across the range of human endeavor. As intimately involved as I was in the process I still found myself overwhelmed and surprised by the emotion and passion that was on display in Tanzania. In concluding comments I stated that we have "Planted Seeds", now we must nurture them and watch them grow. The ideas, initiatives, businesses, inventions, creative pursuits on display at TED Global provided us with hint of what exists and a glimpse of what is possible. We have barely skimmed the surface of ingenious and profound possibilities, I am gladdened and delighted that a face of the continent that hitherto remained unknown has made its debut.
I must thank all those that made this possible. Chris Anderson the curator of TED sincerely believed that there was something ticking below the surface of this continent of ours and provided the tools and immense resources to bring its story to fruition,Bravo Chris! The TED team. The Bloggers, and their de facto leader ---Ethan Zuckerman --- . The inspirational thought leaders--Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, George Ayittey-- and many others too numerous to mention...Thanks a Ton!
Now back to blogging, building on TED Global and more!!

Bravo!
Fantastic
When is the next one to be held in Africa? I'd love to go to that.
Are there audio downloads of all the African participants? Would TED be able to make it available because I'd love to listen to it.
Makes me so proud that Africa is starting to awaken and that we are demonstrating that entrepreneurial talent that is articulate, resourceful and intelligent exists on the continent.
Allez Africa!
Emeka,
Congratulations! Sincere thanks for the line up of speakers you chose. It is important to find a way to follow up on Ted Global 2007 and ensure that the material is used to inspire other entrepreneurs and innovators from Africa.
I was really moved by the whole experience and k now many good things will come out of the connections that were made, but even at the subliminal level, the conference did something for all of us who were there, it is hard to explain, but it will have a lasting effect of me.
Wish you well with whatever ventures you are working on.
Congratulations, it was a great event and we were all honoured to have been there to hear the inspiring talks
Hi Emeka,
I have to thank you for TED Africa. I was greatly inspired, moved and proud of this conference, and I wasn't even there. I followed along via the blogs and the photos that were uploaded. Even all the way from Chicago I was truly touched.
Will be in NYC in a couple of weeks and would like to sit down and talk to you some more about some ideas I have.

congratulation's and thanks Emeka for helping to lay the foundations a new blossom of African business and technological ingenuity. Yourself and the organizers at did a terrific job to rekindle Africans at home and around the world. I followed up with the event through the detailed and live reporting from the blogger community. It was like being there. The speakers were thought provoking as they were inspirational. An atmosphere of optimism and can-do mentality. The waves created by the event traveled fast the ripples are still being felt. Now working towards the promise of the event is what is left to us.
An excellent and well timed event. thanks Emeka.
